For this project, our job was to help turn the kitchen into a more spacious & inviting space to entertain guests. The homeowner expressed that he likes to cook for lots of guests so we had to make sure he had his professional kitchen set up & maximize the existing footprint of the kitchen. To make this happen, we worked with our architectural & engineering team to remove the load bearing partition wall that separated the living room and kitchen. As you can see in the before & after images, we relocated the stove & sink to one end of the room and positioned the island to be between the living room. The thought behind this was the island would serve as a place for guests to hangout while leaving the chef plenty of space to do this work.
To make sure that we maximized the available counterspace, we built in as much of the appliances as we could into the island and lower cabinets. This way, the kitchen would work great for parties but also for the homeowner's daily needs. Let's not forget to mention the new & greatly improved bar area with the wine fridge built into the lower cabinets. Contrast this with the previous set up where the bar was set towards the back of the room, the homeowners did a great job on this one!
Appliances are from Z-Line & cabinets are a 2 tone shaker style finished with a quartz surface on top.
