This space was previously part of the home's spacious backyard but our clients wanted to add this 14'x18' family room complete with a gas fireplace insert. The 2 French doors & windows around the fireplace make this room still feel like part of the spacious backyard. For the finishes, we installed faux beams to match the Modern Farmhouse style our clients had. Used a black quartz for the fireplace backsplash and built a custom hood around the insert to give it a wood burning fireplace feel. Fun fact, the city of Walnut Creek will almost never allow for newly constructed wood burning fireplaces due to the air pollution it causes and fire hazard that they are.
